This page has been designed to help you easily locate information about the use of prescribed fire or controlled burning to keep our region’s forests healthy and free of wildfires. Or other research and conservation media resources that may be of interest. Current and past news releases sent to the media will be posted here for easy reference.

For instance, during wildfire season, the public needs to know the natural role fire plays in the life cycle of healthy southern forests, and how prescribed burning functions as a land management tool to prevent devastating wildfires.
