My research interests include plant community dynamics, fire ecology, and restoration ecology. I also have an avid interest in the floristics of the southeastern U.S. My husband and colleague, Dr. Jeff Glitzenstein, and I have spent many years monitoring vegetation changes in long-term fire research plots and have published on effects of fire frequency and fire season. We are especially interested in effects on ground-layer plant communities, and have worked at research sites throughout the southeastern Coastal Plain, especially in South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. We also carry out floristic surveys and work with land managers on restoration programs.
Personal Interests:
I am active in a variety of organizations that seek to protect and promote native plants, plant habitats, and plant communities. I also enjoy hiking with our two dogs.
