Research Interests:

My research focuses on plant community ecology of the southern U.S. Coastal Plain with an emphasis on fire as a natural ecosystem process.  Specific interests include natural community identification and classification, landscape history of natural communities, effects of fire regime on plant communities, fire behavior prediction, remote sensing of burn severity, and effects of fire on soil.  My program places priority on research that may be applied to conservation of natural communities and declining species.

Personal Interests:
I enjoy outdoor activities my family.  I am involved with adoption support organizations and am active in my church.
